Peace be upon you!
Thank you SO much for being here. I appreciate each and every single person who takes time out of their day to read any bit of my writing— I definitely do not take it lightly.
This is something I’ve wanted to do since I was a child. I’ve noticed that writing can feel like a very spiritual practice for me when I commit to it regularly, because it drives you to reflect. I also feel that I am my best self, my most childlike self, when I dedicate time and space to create.
Beyond myself- I believe we are all our best selves when we create intentional time to think creatively. And, I truly believe we all have the duty to create art in whatever way is called to us.
Why creative coincidences?
I chose this name for my substack almost as an irony. I am learning more and more that I do not believe in coincidences. I am driven to this largely by my faith, as I believe in the concept of Qadr and God’s intentional planning. Far too many times in my life, I’ve experienced things that have felt just a little *too* coincidental, but they have pushed me to reflect in ways that I would never have done so otherwise.
A friend once told me that we are meant to see this world as a poem, with signs and metaphors all around us that can speak to reminders of God wherever we go. So, through this substack, I hope to write when I am reminded of God’s signs, write when I am moved by what may seem like a coincidental metaphor, write when I feel that it’s been too long since I’ve properly reflected. I invite anyone who reads my writing to also reflect on creative coincidences, or, the lack thereof in their own lives.
